MAIOR MVD PROTIVPOHARNAJA SLUSJBA
Well kept 1970 dated parade uniform for a major of the MVD firefighting branch, most likely in the Ukrainan SSR. He begun his service in the 1930s, fought in the defense of Kiev during the war and was in service until the early 1960s when he retired or was transferred to civilian duty.
He got several interesting awards related to his career, not only wartime awards (Defense of Kiev, Victory over Germany, jubilee Order of the Patriotic War) but also civilian awards like the medals for "Valiant Labor" and "Development of Virgin lands". The long service medal is the variation for MVD personell. The academy badge may be a replacement badge as it dates from the early 1970s. There is also a badge for "Excellent firefighter".
The uniform is in excellent condition and comes with straight leg trousers for wear with shoes, visor cap and belt. The size is 52 (US42, L) and the cap is size 58 (L).

Order of the Great Patriotic War II class (1985), Badges "Excellent firefighter" and "25th anniversary of the Victory" and finally a graduation badge.
