KONTR-ADMIRAL
Interesting M/59 service uniform of a rear admiral of the surface fleet, however used as a parade uniform. This model was intended to be worn with ribbon bar, but the traces from screwplates show that the awards has been fitted onto the tunic for a long time. The time span of this uniform is 1959-1967 and the awards date from 1943 until 1967. The Order of the Red Star has a low 900.000 range serial number and the Guards badge is early 1950s manufacture. The owner was the commander of a surface flotilla but was also in the war production during the war as he has both the military and labor victory medals. It is possible he was working in the shipbuilding or arms production branches.

The buttons has no date, instead they all have the *** marking on back, indicating 1950s-early 1960s manufacture. The visor cap is mid 1960s and the sweatshield inside show quite honest wear. The tunic and trousers are in good shape. The award ribbons are somewhat soiled.

Overall, the uniform set is in excellent condition shows light to medium wear (medium for visor cap). The size for the tunic is 52-54 (42-44), the visor cap is 57.

Awards: Order of the Red Star, Order of the Badge of Honour, Medal for Victory over Germany, Medal for 20th anniversary of the Victory, Medal for Victory on the labor front, medals for 30th and 50th anniversaries of the foundation of the Soviet armed forces.

Badge for surface flotilla commander, Red guards.
