AIRFORCE MECHANIC
Well kept parade uniform of a technical lieutnant of the Soviet airforce, dated (19)73. The tunic features silver shoulderboards instead of gold and has the propeller with red star on the collar tabs. These uniforms are much rarer than the ordinary airforce uniforms and are seldom seen in this good condition.
The awards indicate a career span of about 10 years in the mid 1960s until the mid 1970s, after which the career seem to have ended with no further awards whatsoever. The uniform was obtained in Lithuania in 1992 and purchased by Soviet-Uniforms.com summer 2008 from a private seller. The badges are for basic paratroop training with two jumps and the wing is standard issue for technical crew.
Awards: Medal for 20th anniversary of Victory over Germany, Anniversary medal for 50th anniversary of the Soviet armed forces and the medal for 10 years of Irreproachable service.
Badge for basic paratrooper training and the aviation technical branch wing. The medals are mounted as "2+1".
