MAIOR AVIATSII
Stunning parade uniform of a major of the soviet airforce with both combat and labor service during the second world war. His awards include two medals for combat service (one may be for long service at it has no serial number) however the first award has a extremely low number in the 20.xxx range, indicating award time around 1941-1942. The owner participated in the defense of Leningrad.
Apart from the above mentioned award, the owner also got the medal for defense of Leningrad (and the medal celebrating the 250th anniversary of Leningrad as well, given out in 1957 to citizens of the town as well as to defenders) and the medal for Victory over Germany, both combatant and labor versions. The Red Star order has an exceptionally low number in 400.xxx range. The Order of Alexander Nevsky seems to be a copy though, although the back looks authentic, the enamel in front has a "cold" appearance.
The set comes with jacket, visor cap and belt. The jacket has holders for the belt. The shoulderboards have one metal star each for the rank of major. Both sleeves and collar have metal insignias. On the collar are the aviation insignias as well. The cap has the correct M/55 badge and leaves around the visor.
Awards: Order of Alexander Nevski (copy), Order of the Great Patriotic War II class, Order of the Red Star, Twice Medal for Combat service, Medal for Defense of Leningrad, Medal for Victory over Germany, Medal for Victory on labor front, medal for 250th anniversary of the foundation of Leningrad. Medal for 30th anniversary of the Soviet army and navy, medal for 15 years of irreproachable service.
