The double breasted M/54 uniform replaced the closed collar tunics that had been used since the war and reflected a new modern era of the Soviet military. The uniforms featured detailed embroidered leaves around the collar and was replaced in 1969 by the similar M/69 version. This model featured a darker "forest" green colour than later olive green uniforms.

Excellent condition service uniform of a infantry major general, M/54 model. The uniform belonged to a war veteran with service in the Soviet armed forces since the days of the civil war. He was awarded the famous 1938 RKKA award for the 20th anniversary of the Peoples and Peasant Red Army and participated in the defense of Stalingrad during the Great Patriotic War. He also received the title Hero of Soviet Union and several high awards including the Order of Lenin which was awarded simultaneously with the Hero of USSR and two Order of the Red Banner.

On the left side is a second hole next to the Red Guards badge which may have hosted an academy badge, now unfortunately missing. The ribbon bar is made from metal and plastic and is in excellent condition. The buttons are the 1946-1956 16 republic type, all correct for the era.

The uniform is in excellent condition, some wear around the collar and sleeves but no damages, rips or tears. The size is about 56 (US 44-46) or XL.

On the left side is a 1950s Red Guards badge.
