Excellent condition service uniform of a colonel of the technical branch (mechanics, airfield administration and maintenance) of the Soviet airforce, dating from the mid 1970s. The uniform belonged to a highly decorated officer with wartime and postwar career. The jacket is a single-breasted coat in olive green wool gabardine with gold-edged blue collar tabs and blue piping. The collar tabs bear the aviation technical insignia, a propeller and airplane engine with a red star in the center. The shoulderboards are olive green with blue piping and three large metal gold stars each. The yearstamp on the back of the buttons is 78. The visor cap is a 43TSePK manufacture, medium size.

The uniform set is an large size, about a US 44 / 46 size. The trousers are about a 38" waist. The tunic has sewn-on ribbon bar for an impressive array of awards. Among them is the Service to the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, order of the Red Star, Medal for combat service, medal for Victory over Germany, medal for reclamation of the Virgin lands, a number of anniversary medals and finally the east german medal "waffenbruderschaft" Ist class.

On the right breast are two important badges; a 1949-1958 issue mechanics wing in silver plated brass with an impressive wingspan of 10 cm and an academy level graduation badge (post 1956).

The uniform consists of jacket, straight-leg trousers and visor cap.
