Very scarcely found M/55 parade uniform of a Major of the Intendenture of the Soviet armed forces, circa 1955. The double breasted tunic is made from heavy gray wool with magenta/crimson piping, with metal leaf decorations around collar and at the sleeves. On the collar are brass army insignias as well. The shoulderboards are 4-sided in silver bullion with magenta piping and one gold star on each shoulder for the rank of major. At this time, the magenta color was used for several branches including infantry, justice, and intendenture, however only the later used silver shoulder boards and only intendenture used the shared standard armed forces insignia.
The tunic shows wear and has holes from awards but there are no damages on neither in- or outside. The uniform is a size 50 or US40. The belt is not included.
