Very fine complete service uniform for a technician / mechanic major of the Soviet air force, dating from the late 1980s.
The tunic and trousers are high quality olive green officers issue with sky piping on the shoulder boards and along leg length and sky blue collar tabs featuring the Soviet air force aerotechnical branch. The ribbons show service in the Soviet armed forces from the late 1950s until the late 1980s with over 30 years of armed forces service. The highest award is the order "Red Banner of Labor" followed by the medal "For bravery in fire". The other awards include long service medals and armed forces anniversary medals.
On the left chest are two 1960s graduation badges, the left for military school and the right for technical university, both with great enamel work. The technical university rhombus has separately attached Soviet crest and crossed hammer/wrench tools. It is possible that an aviation mechanic wing has been present above the graduation badge, but if so, it is now missing. We can supply a replacement.
The uniform set consists of tunic, trousers, belt as in photo and visor cap.
The uniform is in very good condition, with small wear to the tunic front. The size of the uniform is large being an european 52-54 or US42R. The cap is a size 58.
