ADMIRAL FLOTA   Admiral of the fleet was the second highest rank in the Soviet navy, being subordinate only to Admiral of the Fleet of USSR. An 'admiral of the fleet'usually held the command of entire defense areas such as North sea, Baltic sea, Pacific ocean etc., or in Chernavin's case, the entire fleet. Chernavin was made Hero of the Soviet Union on February 18th, 1981.
This is our second uniform with this rank from the same admiral; whereas the earlier had the ribbon bar; this tunic has holes from the awards. The set comes with a letter of authenticity and was purchased out of a large collection.

The set consists of
- Uniform jacket, which has traces from screwback awards and mounted decorations plus a Hero of Soviet union medal. Matching trousers accompany the jacket.
- Black visor cap for winter use
- White shirt with shoulderboards and tie, for summer use
- White visor cap for summer use; the cap has a nice patina and the white colour has gained a yellowish tone
- Parade belt with dagger hangers

The condition of the set is excellent. The tunic has, as stated above, clear traces from awards, but is otherwise in a very good state. The buttons on the tunic are marked "90" which makes the tunic, or at least the buttons, a very "late" USSR production. Chernavin was the last Commander in Chief of the Soviet Navy (1985-1992) and this is probably his last used parade uniform.

The shoulderboards are golden with one large star with anchor and without any damages or wear. The sleeve stripes are slightly faded, and the inside of the sleeves as well as other parts of the interior do show the usual slight dirting from wear. The white visor cap has a faded white colour but is otherwise in a good condition, as is the black visor with the exception of a "break" in the framework that upholds its saucer style. This damage may be possible to repair, but is on the other hand not fatal.

While this set is sold primarily as a collectible, the size of the uniform is 54-56 and the caps are size 56-57. In U.S. sizes, this is 44-46 for jackets and about 7 for the visor cap.
