Order of the Red Banner award group This beautiful set of awards were issued to Ivan Fedorovitj Fotjenko. All four awards; Order of the Red Banner, Order of the Red Star and two medals for Combat service are listed in the same award book. All awards are serial numbered. The Red Banner was for a long time the 2nd highest award in the USSR and was still in 1991 a very prestigeous decoration.

It is likely that while the combat service awards were given for combat actions, the Red Banner order and the Order of the Red Star were given as awards of gratitude for long service (the medals for irreproachable service were not introduced until 1957).

All the awards are in excellent condition and the set is a very nice group, suitable for display. Making a research may also give further interesting facts. If you want photos of the reverse sides of the awards, please contact us and we will arrange photos.
