The Order of the Badge of Honor was established on 25 November 1935 and conferred on citizens of the USSR for outstanding achievements in production, scientific research and social, cultural and other forms of social activity, for promotion of economic, scientific, technological, cultural and other ties between the USSR and other countries and also for significant contribution to basic and applied research as well as contributions in national life including state defense. The award was replaced in 1988 by the Order of Honor (Ordena Pocheta).

The award is in very good condition and is a type 3, variation 1 issue from the 1940s. The order is mounted on a two piece period steel hanger with a possible original ribbon.
