Beautiful Soviet-Russian Merchant Navy MORFLOT captain parade uniform dating from the late 1980s or early 1990s with awards overlapping into the post-Soviet Russian Federation. While this is technically a civilian uniform, the merchant fleet of the Soviet union held close ties with the navy and many officers did also hold reservist positions within the naval forces. The sleeves have one large golden stripe for the rank of 10th level official.
The uniform consist of tunic, trousers and visor cap which are basically standard navy cut and shape pieces. The awards which are mounted on multiple bars include the awards "For labor distinction" and "For Victory on Labor front" followed by post-war commemorative awards and service decorations. On the wearers right is a 1946-1956 graduation badge and the 1985 anniversary issue of Order of the Patriotic War II class. There is a hole trace from a top mounted badge on the wearers right chest. The award is missing, but could have been a civil fleet profiency or excellent-badge.
The visor cap has a very impressive embroidery cocarde, itself a great collectible! The buttons are likely a post-Soviet version rather than the Soviet era merchant fleet buttons.
The uniform is in a very good condition and the size is a european 52-54 with visor cap size 58.
Please ask any questions prior to bidding and don't miss this fantastic set!
